  • Running a business offering computer consultancy, training and applications development to public and private sector clients throughout the UK (although offers from elsewhere gratefully accepted).

 

Sept 1989 - Apr 1991 Cumbria County Council, IT Training Officer and, latterly, Manager of Language and Technology Centre

  • As IT Training Officer : Production and delivery of a wide range of Unix and MSDos business software training courses for County Council Officers from all departments.
     
  • As Manager of Language and Technology Centre : Overall administrative and financial management of centre, including PC and Unix training suite, organisation of computer, language and food technology courses, seminars and conferences.

 

Sept 1986 - Jul 1988 Director of Studies, British Council, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

  • Overall management of British Council English Language Teaching Institute, 40 teachers and support staff, and approximately 2500 students per academic year.
